Hello all, What a performance. The children really enjoyed singing for you this week and we hope that you enjoyed it too. It has been very busy and festive in foundation, and we have been making cards and enjoying lots of glitter and glue. I think they have definitely got into the Christmas spirit. We have been so lucky with the snow and the children have spent time outside making snow angels and snowmen. On Thursday we had a visit from Santa which was very exciting. We sung Christmas songs for him and he left a bag of presents for us. During the Christmas party we have done lots of dancing and played party games in the hall.  Only 3 school days left before we break for the holidays. We are all looking forward to a break and we hope that some of the awful bugs will disappear. Please remember to collect your child at 2 o'clock on 21st December. Have a great weekend!  Hello all, Christmas has arrived in foundation and this week we have created a Christmas card factory. The children have enjoyed writing cards, putting them in envelopes and posting them in our post box. We have learnt about the Christmas nativity story and have continued to practice our songs for the show. Reception class visited the church on Thursday where the children listened to the Christmas story. The children are looking forward to performing for you but please do not be surprised if your child doesn't sing or gets upset if they see you, this is completely normal, and we will make sure that they are ok. It can be a little overwhelming to be in the hall with lots of adults. Hopefully they will all be ok. We have been looking at shapes this week and the children have enjoyed using geometric shapes with the play dough. The teachers supported the children with learning the names of the shapes.  We decided to collect some natural resources we put them in water to see if they wo

Hello all, This week we have been practicing our songs for the Christmas concert. The children are very enthusiastic, and I am sure they will have been singing the songs at home. They are looking forward to performing for you on the 13th and 14th of December. Please can you dress your child in Christmas clothes on Monday 12th, Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th December as we will be performing the concert for the school on the Monday. This can comprise of any Christmas festive clothes that you already have at home. We now have a post box in the setting so the children can bring Christmas cards in if they wish. I have provided a list of the children names for Nursery and Reception.  Phonics In phonics this week we practised reading words and short sentences with the letter sounds we have learnt so far. Our main focus was on recognising digraphs: th, sh, ch, ng, nk. Our tricky words are: he, she, me, we, be. Maths In maths we used cherry models to show different ways of making 5. Next wee
