 Hello everyone, This week Reception class looked at Spring season and Easter. We have noticed lots of signs of Spring while on the nature walk.  We have made a calendar which shows the season we were born in. We have noticed, that there are lots of Winter babies in our class.  During the week, we have learnt about Easter traditions and the children have created colourful Easter Eggs. We have also had a number egg hunts in the garden which was a lot of fun.  In PE Mr Mills was teaching the children football skills this week. There are lots of talented footballers in our class. Phonics This week the children were learning  the letter sounds: 'ure' and 'er'. We have now introduced all of the Reception letter sounds, so in the Summer term, we will be using our phonics knowledge in reading and writing.  Maths This week many children enjoyed playing number games, especially Snakes and Ladders was very popular amongst the children.  After Easter break we will learn about mone

 Hello all, This week we have been learning about superheroes. Our book of the week was 'Supertato' by Sue Hendra. The children have shown lots of excitement while exploring the superhero topic and have created fantastic props for their role play. We have discussed different powers that superheroes have and the children were amazed when I was showing them my magnetic power. They could not believe that all the metal objects could stick to my hand. I have never heard such silence in the classroom.                                               Exploring ten frames. Making number patterns. There were lots of pancakes, delicious cakes and soups being made in our mud kitchen this week. We have lots of  young, talented teachers in our Reception class. It is fascinating to watch their lessons and how they communicate with their students. Phonics In phonics we have been practising reading words with our new diagraphs 'ear' and 'air'.  Hello everyone, Both the children and the staff are very happy to be back in school. The children are really enjoying being together again, playing and learning. This week was Science week in school so our learning was focused on science experiments which the children really enjoyed. As the children have shown lots of enthusiasm while learning about Space , we have carried our a Rocket launch experiment and the Big Bang experiment. We have made giant bubbles, created insects and have learnt facts about our bodies. On Thursday we have celebrated The World Book Day. The children were excited wearing their costumes and have enjoyed listening to the stories they have brought to school. Phonics This week we have focused on learning the letters of the alphabet and we have revisited the letter sounds we have learnt so far.  Next week the children will be introduced to the letter sounds: ear and air.We will also learn the tricky word: are.
