Hello all, We would like to thank you all for the wonderful and generous gifts you have given us. We wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!  We look forward to seeing you on Monday the 8th of January 2024.  Best wishes from  The foundation team. 🎅🎅🎅 I have sent home the list of  the Autumn term tricky words in the children's reading folders. We will  send the reading books home after the break.

Hello all, What an amazing week we have had starting with the performance. The children did so well! The children have been engrossed in lots of creative Christmas activities. It has been like Santa's workshop. The children have enjoyed the different activities on offer and are clearly in a festive spirit. Only 3 school days left before we break for the holidays. We are all looking forward to a break and we hope that some of the awful bugs will disappear. On Monday the children will be having their Christmas party in the afternoon. I am aware your children will want to be here but please do not send them if they are ill. Please remember to collect your child at 2 o'clock on 20th December. Have a lovely weekend!   Hello all, Christmas has arrived in foundation and this week we have created a Christmas card factory. The children have enjoyed writing cards, putting them in envelopes and posting them in our post box. We have learnt about the Christmas nativity story and have continued to practice our songs for the show. The children are looking forward to performing for you but please do not be surprised if your child doesn't sing or gets upset if they see you, this is completely normal, and we will make sure that they are ok. It can be a little overwhelming to be in the hall with lots of adults. Hopefully they will all be ok. We have been looking at shapes this week and the children have enjoyed using geometric shapes with the play dough. The teachers supported the children with learning the names of the shapes.  We decided to collect some natural resources, we put them in water to see if they would freeze outside during the night. The photographs show the results. The children were amazed.

Hello all,  This week, we have continued to practice our songs so there is definitely a Christmas buzz in the air.  We cant believe how well the children are  established with the Foundation environment and routines. It is always a good time to reflect on learning and what progress the children have made since September which is quite evident from observing their interactions and learning on a daily basis. It is a pleasure to see. This week Reception class was learning about nocturnal animals and their habits. The children found this topic very  interesting so we will continue with this topic next week. When outdoors, the children created art in the style of Andy Goldsworthy using natural resources from our environment.  Phonics This week in phonics we revisited all Phase 2 letter sounds and learnt the following tricky words: we, me, be. Maths In maths we have been learning about shapes with four sides. The children created own shapes by folding squares and rectangles and used shapes
