Hello all, This week we have been discussing the importance of equality. We have learnt how important it is to have understanding of how we should respond fairly to the individual needs and identities of all others. Allowing everyone the opportunity to have an equal chance to live their lives as they choose.  During carpet sessions we have been describing our friends. The children were good at identifying what's on the outside e.g. hair colour and clothes. We helped the children to describe what was on the inside. They were very good at this and were able to identify kindness, happiness and other emotions. They even picked up on some of the activities certain children liked to do.  Although equality has been our school focus this week it is something that we try to embed in all our daily teaching. Hello all, During the week we have been making repeating patterns. We used real resources to make patterns and body percussions to play patterns. Thank you for bringing acorns, conkers and pinecones to school. It is lovely to see the children using natural resources for playing and learning.  Each day this week we have been playing ring games. During the games the children had lots of fun and practised the important skills of turn taking while communicating.  On Friday we have released the worms from our wormery back into their natural habitat. We have discussed the importance of returning living things into nature after observation. Phonics In phonics the children have been introduced to the letter sounds: h, b, f, l. Please revise all of the Autumn 1 letter sounds at home from the handout you have been given during Reading information meeting. Your support is highly appreciated. Maths In maths we have been making repeating patterns. Next week we will be making patterns using 2D shape

The children have enjoyed practicing the songs throughout the week and I think you will agree they performed really well. This week we have made a wormery with the children as they have been investigating the habitats of worms in our garden. The children can now watch the trails that the worms make as they move around the wormery.  The children have enjoyed junk modelling using recyclable boxes. Could you please bring in recycle stuff to school so that the children can be creative with them. They have used scissors, tape, paper and string to create all sorts of amazing things such as robots, masks, mobile phones. I think the highlight of the week has been our new nail bar. We have observed the children making nails using playdough, for each other so we decided to make our own nail bar in the setting. It has created an amazing learning environment where the children chat and practice communication and lang
