Welcome back after our Easter brake. The children are full of energy, ready for the exciting summer term. We have started the term by learning about money. Knowing that the best learning comes from practical experiences, we have introduced a Foundation CafĂ© into our classroom. The children can purchase their milk and fruit using real money. Each day we choose two shopkeepers who serve the customers, two accountants who count the daily intake and write the sums in the book, and a banker who takes the money from the accountants and writes up a  receipt. The children absolutely love the idea, and can't wait to be involved. Please allow your child to have some experience of handling money at home. This term we are going to focus more on letter formation using the Pen Pals scheme. This week the children practised the Curly caterpillar family letters: c, a, d, o, s, g, q,e,f. All of these letters begin just like c, which makes easier for the children to memorise the correct formation o

It is hard to believe that the Spring term has come to an end. We have finished the term learning about Easter traditions, listening to Easter stories, singing songs and creating Easter decorations. On Monday the children watched the Easter production ' Rock Bottom' prepared by Y3, Y4 and Y5 pupils. They  really enjoyed it, and were inspired to create their own show in our classroom.  The Reception Class children are keen readers, therefore we have decided that each day we will have a reader of the day who will read a book to the class. The children love the idea and can't wait for their turn to read. All of the children have now received a letter and a login for Reading Eggs. I hope the children are enjoying the programme. Please write a comment in your child's reading record to let us know how she/he is getting on. The reading groups for the Summer Term Mrs Robinson Mrs Howe Ms Chandler Mrs Horsewood Mrs Sheehan Chloe
