Hello all, During carpet sessions this week we have  been describing our friends. The children were good at identifying what's on the outside e.g. hair colour and clothes. We helped the children to describe what was on the inside. They were very good at this and were able to identify kindness, happiness and other emotions. They even picked up on some of the activities certain children liked to do.  This week our focus story was 'The Owl Babies'. The children listened to the story and then they acted it out using props. We have lots of talented actors and actresses in our setting! Maths This week in maths we were learning about numbers 1,2 and 3 by finding quantities, subitizing, comparing numbers and problem solving tasks.  Phonics In phonics we revisited all of the letter sounds we have learnt so far and we played sound blending games. Please continue practising the sounds at home with your children over the half term.  Have a great half term break! Mrs Sheehan

Hello all, This week we have been looking at seasonal changes and collecting things that have fallen from the trees in our wildlife area. We have focused on the observational skills and we looked for spider webs in the outdoor environment. We found lots of amazing webs and we have learnt interesting facts about spiders. The children created their own spider webs and spiders during child initiated play using a variety of resources. We have read and sung 'The very busy spider' story which the children really enjoyed.  Next week we will  be learning about Stephen Wiltshire to celebrate Black History Month. I will included some of the art work next week for you to see. Please ask them what they know about the artist as they will be able to tell you about his life. Phonics In phonics the children have been introduced to the letter sounds: r, h, b, f. Our tricky word this week is: 'the'. Please revise all of the Autumn 1 letter sounds at home from the hand out you have been

We explored these concepts through hands on activities. Next week we will look at different patterns and we will make patterns using natural resources. Phonics This week the children have been introduced to the following letter sounds: ck, e, u, r. Our tricky word was: I Please, revisit the letter sounds with your child sound at home.
