Hello everyone, This week the children enjoyed learning the Flamenco dance and singing' Hello ' song in different languages. They had fun making props for the dance such as shakers and fans. The children performed the singing and dancing beautifully during the school assembly. We were very excited to see a fire engine at school who performed a safety check in school. It would be lovely if we could have some parents come to school to talk to the children about their jobs. If you would like to do that, please talk to Mrs Robinson or myself to arrange suitable time. Phonics This week we continued on learning rhyming words. Thank you to all of the parents who sent rhyming objects to school, the children were very excited to show the things they brought to school to their friends. We were also working on blending and segmenting the letter sounds. Next week during the phonics sessions the children will be introduced to the letters and sounds: s, a, t, p.  Hello everyone, This week the children have enjoyed the story of 'Little Red Riding Hood'. We have been singing songs and sequencing the events in the story. The children were also able to create an alternative ending to the story. Next week our focus story will be 'The Three Little Pigs'.  Phonics This week we have been reading books with rhyming words and have been playing rhyming games.  At home, I would like the children to find two items which rhyme e.g. spoon- balloon and bring them to school next week in a named bag.  Next week we will be playing blending and segmenting sounds games. Maths In maths we were looking at numbers of personal significance which we will continue to do next week.. Children can bring pictures of their house number in from home ( taken on camera or drawn).  Hello everyone, As we were lucky with such beautiful weather for most of this week, the children spent lots of time playing and exploring the outdoor area . It is lovely to see the children growing in confidence and making new relationships. Over the week, we have been reading stories about different feelings and were discussing the ways of expressing our emotions. The children really enjoyed singing" Little Ladybird sitting on a stone". Our art table was very popular. The children had a go at creating with different collage materials. Next week we are going to start introducing joining techniques while modelling with junk. If you have any empty pots and boxes in your recycling bin, we would be very grateful if you could bring them to school next week. On Friday Reception class took part in their first music assembly with our music teacher Mrs Lawrence in the school hall. They also enjoyed singing, dancing and playing musical instruments during the music lesson. Reception cl

Hello all,  It was lovely to welcome the new Reception class this week. We were very impressed with how calm and engaged in play the children were on the first two days of school. The children are slowly becoming familiar with the new routines and new friendships are being established. We have enjoyed singing and story time together. The class took part in PE sessions with Mr Mills and the music lesson with Mrs Lawrence which were lots of fun. The children explored the garden, they loved climbing trees, going down the slide and many chocolate cakes were made in our mud kitchen. We were very lucky to have a frog visiting our garden today which the children found very exciting. Please remember to bring named welly boots next week if you haven't done it yet. The children should also bring a water bottle each day to school with water and not juice. As we provide fruit daily at school,  the children don't need to bring their own snack. Have a lovely weekend! Mrs Sheehan
