It has been a very exciting week in the Foundation stage. The children performed their Christmas concert on the stage with confidence and joy. We are very proud of them. During the week we were learning about Christmas traditions which we will continue next week. Each day we open one box of our advent calendar which has a theme for us to discuss and learn about e.g. pantomime, holly wreath, nativity scene. On Thursday we have visited our local church where we have sung Christmas carols, played music and learnt the story of baby Jesus. The children have really enjoyed the visit. Next week we have our Christmas party and the children can come dressed in party clothes on Wednesday the18th . The children will be having a disco and they will play some games followed by a  visit from Pappa Noel. Please could you send in a SMALL amount of food to share at the party. This can be anything simple, eg. a packet of crisps or biscuits. Please speak to me if you have any concerns re

They found a hexagon,a triangle,a diamond and a square. We were searching for a pentagon , but have not succeeded so that we are waiting for more icy weather to renew the search. Phonics During the week the children were introduced to the sounds: th, ng, ai, ee, as well as the tricky word:
