It has been a very exciting week in the Foundation stage. The children performed their Christmas concert on the stage with confidence and joy. We are very proud of them.
During the week we were learning about Christmas traditions which we will continue next week.
Each day we open one box of our advent calendar which has a theme for us to discuss and learn about e.g. pantomime, holly wreath, nativity scene.
On Thursday we have visited our local church where we have sung Christmas carols, played music and learnt the story of baby Jesus. The children have really enjoyed the visit.
Next week we have our Christmas party and the children can come dressed in party clothes on Wednesday the18th . The children will be having a disco and they will play some games followed by a visit from Pappa Noel.
Please could you send in a SMALL amount of food to share at the party. This can be anything simple, eg. a packet of crisps or biscuits. Please speak to me if you have any concerns regarding the food.
We break up on Friday 20th at 2.00pm.
Phonics
This week the children were introduced to the following letter sounds: igh, oa, oo.
Next week we will revisit all the letter sounds and the tricky words learnt so far.
Please remember to read with your child at home and to bring their reading books to school every day.
The children have received their Maths Seeds log in details, and from conversations with you I know that the programme is much enjoyed by the children.
Have a lovely weekend!
