Hello everyone,

Both the children and the staff are very happy to be back in school. The children are really enjoying being together again, playing and learning.

This week was Science week in school so our learning was focused on science experiments which the children really enjoyed. As the children have shown lots of enthusiasm while learning about Space , we have carried our a Rocket launch experiment and the Big Bang experiment. We have made giant bubbles, created insects and have learnt facts about our bodies.

On Thursday we have celebrated The World Book Day. The children were excited wearing their costumes and have enjoyed listening to the stories they have brought to school.

Phonics

This week we have focused on learning the letters of the alphabet and we have revisited the letter sounds we have learnt so far.

Next week the children will be introduced to the letter sounds: ear and air.We will also learn the tricky word: are.

Maths

In Maths we have explored numbers within 15. Next week the children will use the ten frames to add quantities and to explore place value.

Reading books

Because of the Covid restrictions we will be changing the reading books once a week. This will allow us time to quarantine books when they arrive from home. It is very important that the children bring their reading books to school on Mondays. We will then change the books on Thursdays, and the children will take them home. Only the books brought to school on Mondays will be changed . Please don't bring the books to school on any other day.

Water bottles

Please make sure that your child brings a water bottle to school everyday, this should only have water and not juice.

Have a lovely weekend!
Mrs Sheehan
