Hello all, This week, we made the most of the beautiful weather by spending lots of time learning and playing outdoors. The children had a wonderful time exploring, creating and working together in our outdoor environment. It was lovely to see their imaginations flourish as they mixed and created magical potions using natural materials. In the mud kitchen, the children enjoyed cooking up delicious pretend meals, sharing ideas and taking turns as they played together. They also worked collaboratively to design and build exciting obstacle courses, thinking carefully about how to make them fun and challenging for their friends. The tree swing was a firm favourite this week, providing plenty of laughter and excitement, while climbing trees helped the children develop their confidence, balance and coordination. Hello all, This week in Reception, we began an exciting gardening project to create our very own vegetable patch in the Foundation area. The children were enthusiastic and eager to get involved as they helped to build a raised garden bed. They worked together to transfer the soil into the new bed, showing great teamwork. On Thursday, the Reception children spent some time in their new Year 1 classroom with Mrs Flatley. They enjoyed exploring their new learning environment, meeting Mrs Flatley, and taking part in activities together. The children are super excited to begin this new chapter in their education, and it was wonderful to see their confidence and enthusiasm as they looked ahead to September. Maths In maths we continued with creating repeating patterns with the focus on creating own pattern rule. We also used positional language to build and compare scenes. Hello all, One of the highlights of the week was watching our beautiful butterflies finally emerge from their cocoons. The children were fascinated by the transformation and eagerly observed each stage of the life cycle. After giving the butterflies time to strengthen their wings, we took them outside and released them into nature. Following on from last week's mystery story, the children put their imaginations to work by creating fantastic pirate ships using a variety of junk modelling materials. They showed wonderful creativity, carefully selecting resources and thinking about how to make the ships strong and unique. It was particularly lovely to see the excellent teamwork on display, with children sharing ideas, solving problems together, taking turns, and encouraging one another throughout the building process.
