Hello all,
Today, we celebrated our Harvest Festival, and we were incredibly proud of all the children. They did a fantastic job performing our harvest song and enjoyed celebrating this special occasion together with their friends and families.
As one of our Sounds of the Week was k, we have been learning all about kites. We talked about how kites work and what they need in order to fly. The children then had lots of fun making their own kites.
Unfortunately, the wind wasn't on our side this week! This gave us the opportunity to think creatively about how we could still get our kites into the air. The children discovered that they could run very fast or stand at the top of a hill to help their kites fly. We loved seeing them experimenting, problem-solving and sharing their ideas.
Our children have been incredibly observant while exploring our garden and have spotted lots of fascinating mini beasts. They have been busy looking closely, asking questions and sharing their discoveries with one another.
This has inspired our learning for next week, when we will be finding out more about these wonderful little creatures.
Phonics
This week the children have been introduced to the following letter sounds: g, o, c. k Our tricky word was: is.
Please, revisit the letter sounds with your child sound at home. Thank you for your support.
Maths
In maths, we were comparing objects according to size and mass.
Have a wonderful weekend, and thank you to all our families for joining us in our Harvest Festival celebration.
Mrs Sheehan
