Hello all,
This week in Reception, we continued our exciting exploration of water. The children have been absolutely buzzing with curiosity and enthusiasm as they investigated what happens to different objects when we place them in water.
Our float and sink activities were a huge hit! The children made fantastic predictions, eagerly tested their ideas, and reacted with delight as they discovered whether each item would float on the surface or sink to the bottom. Their excitement was wonderful to see, and it led to so many thoughtful discussions.
We didn’t stop there! We carried out other exciting water experiments, encouraging the children to notice changes, talk about what they observed, and ask questions. From watching colours swirl in water to investigating how water moves through materials, the children were fully engaged and eager to explore more.
It has been a week filled with hands-on learning, scientific thinking, and lots of happy faces. We’re so proud of how confidently the children are experimenting and sharing their ideas
Phonics
This week in phonics the children were introduced to the following letter sounds: sh, th, ng, nk.
Our tricky words were: into, she, he and of. Please. keep practising the Autumn 2 letter sounds at home. Thank you for your support
Maths
