Hello all, This week in Reception, we’ve been learning all about looking after pets and how to be kind and caring animal friends. We are so excited to share that we set up a brand-new role play area called Little Heath Vet — and it’s been buzzing with activity! The children have been using their imagination to become vets, nurses, and pet owners, helping all kinds of animals feel better. It’s wonderful to see them taking turns, showing kindness, and thinking about what pets need to stay happy and healthy. From bandaging pretend paws to giving cuddles and check-ups, the vet surgery has been a busy, joyful place full of caring children. On Friday, we had a very exciting visitor – Clara’s mum came in to talk to us about her amazing trip to South Africa! She recently travelled there with a group of vets to help put trackers on rhinos. These special trackers help keep the rhinos safe and protect them from harm, which is so important for these beautiful animals. Clara’s mum showed us ...

What an exciting week we’ve had in Reception! Over the past few weeks, the children have been carefully observing the tadpoles as they began to change and grow. They noticed how the tadpoles slowly developed tiny legs and their tails started to shrink. The children were fascinated by these changes and asked lots of thoughtful questions. It was amazing to watch their curiosity grow as they learned about the life cycle of frogs right before their eyes! We were so excited to watch them develop and finally, we released them into the pond. We also had a special treat when Charlie’s mum kindly brought some chicks to school for us to see. The children loved watching the fluffy chicks and learning all about them. It was a great hands-on experience that everyone enjoyed. On Thursday, we had our much-anticipated Sports Day! A huge well done to all the children for their brilliant efforts and sportsmanship. We also want to say a big thank you to all the parents and carers who came along t...

Hello all, 🐝 We Found a Bee Nest in Our Garden! 🐝 This week in Foundation, something very exciting happened… we discovered an underground bees' nest in our school garden! 🐝🌼 While we were outside exploring, someone spotted little bees flying in and out of a small hole in the ground. At first, we thought it might be ants or wasps—but then we looked a bit closer and saw they were bees ! They were busy buzzing around, collecting pollen and going back into their secret underground home. 🕳️🌸 We were so curious that we decided to start learning all about bees . Here are some of the amazing facts we’ve already discovered: ✨ Bees live in nests or hives, and some even live underground ! ✨ They love flowers because they collect nectar and pollen to make honey . ✨ Bees are super important because they help plants grow by spreading pollen. We were very careful not to disturb the bees. We learned it’s best to watch them from a safe distance so we don’t scare them. Mr Chanter ...
