Hello all,

This week in Reception, we dived into the exciting world of patterns! The children explored how patterns appear all around us—in art, music, and maths. They had a fantastic time creating their own repeating patterns using body percussion. Clapping, stamping, and tapping different rhythms was both challenging and incredibly fun, helping them understand how patterns can be made through sound and movement.

In our maths sessions, the children used various objects to build and extend patterns. They carefully counted how many times their patterns repeated, which was a great way to combine hands-on learning with early counting skills. The hands-on activities really brought the concept to life, and it was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and creativity in action.

Looking ahead, next week is Transition Week! We will focus on helping the children feel confident and comfortable as they prepare to move up to Year One. Part of this will include spending some time in the new classroom, so they can start to get familiar with their new environment. We’re excited to support them on this important step in their learning journey!

This week, is the last week when we send the reading books home . You will still have the access to the online e library if you want to revisit the books. Please return all the reading and library books to school.

Have a great weekend!

Mrs Sheehan
