Hello all,

Welcome back. It was so lovely to see the children this week full of enthusiasm and happy to be back. They have settled straight into their learning and have spent lots of time using construction resources.

As the weather turned cold, we have decided to learn about temperature and its effects on us and the environment. We have placed coloured water in the balloons and we left them outside for the weekend. The children came up with different predictions of what will happen to the balloons: They will fly to the sky. They will pop. The fox will eat them. They will freeze. We will certainly check on Monday morning.

Next week we will carry out a number of experiments related to changes in temperature.

Phonics

This week we have begun learning Phase 3 letter sounds. The children were introduced to the letter sounds: ai, ee.

Please revise the sounds at home so that the reading process becomes more fluent for your child. If your child has not secured some of the Phase 2 sounds, please revisit those too.

Please use the link below to access the videos of the letter sound pronunciations.

Maths

This week we have been exploring the concept of 0. Through the variety of activities we widened our understanding of an empty set.

Have a great weekend!
