 Hello all,

It was great to have parents in our classroom for stay and play session on Tuesday and we are looking forward to the next visits.

This week we have continued with 'Jack Frost' story. The children wrote letters and drew pictures to Jack Frost inviting him to our Foundation Unit. We have found lots of evidence of Jack visiting us such as foot prints, lots of frost and ice in the garden.

Wood walks

Please make sure you have read the notice on the door of foundation providing information about our weekly wood walks. We are going to be starting our wood walks this term and are hoping, weather permitting that we can take groups of children out each Monday for a walk round the woods at the bottom of Coopers Road. This can only take place if we have adult helpers. We will leave at 9.00am and be back at approximately 9.45/10.00am. This will be a great opportunity to start our week with some fresh air and exercise and an opportunity for you to support your children in the setting. Some parents have already signed to help, we still need more helpers so if you are available please put your child's name on the form. Please put your child’s name against the dates if you are available to help.

Phonics

This week in phonics the children were introduced to the following letter sounds: oo,oo, ar, or.

The new tricky words are: was, you, they.

Maths

In maths we were learning about one more and one less from numbers 0-5 and the composition of these numbers.

Next week we will explore mass and capacity.

Have a lovely weekend!

Mrs Sheehan
