Hello all,
This week we have focused on Autumn poems. This one was our favourite:
Conkers
Five shiny conkers
on a chestnut tree
Beautiful and brown
Don't you all agree?
Along came the wind
and down one fell
A squirrel came to find it
in its spiky shell.
Thank you all so much for bringing the natural recourses to school. The children love using the conkers, acorns, pinecones and leaves for activities. These were particularly useful during maths sessions as we were matching, sorting and comparing quantities. Next week in maths we will focus on patterns.
Phonics
In phonics this week the children were introduced to the letter sounds: g,o,c,k. Please, use the phonics sheets which we have given out to you last week and the Little Wandle website to revisit the letter sounds which we have already covered in school.
The tricky word this week was 'is'.
Reminder
Next week on Friday we will celebrate Harvest Festival in school. Please check the newsletter for the time slots.
Have a lovely weekend!
Mrs Sheehan
