Hello all,

Thank goodness the rain has stopped, this has allowed us to do lots of outdoor learning. The ice has been very exciting and we have been experimenting with ice melting in areas where the sun was shining and areas where it wasn't. We have started looking at animal patterns and camouflage and the children have enjoyed describing the differences between the patterns.

I am sure you have all noticed our new Taxi outside. The children have helped with the design and are eager to start playing with it. We are going to create a Taxi rank to encourage mark making outdoors. Please can you make sure your children do not play in it before and after school.

We have run out of spare trousers for changing, if you have any at home, can you please return them to school.

Maths

This week in maths we have been learning about weight. We used a balancing scale to compare weights and to find balance. The children also used the weighing scale to check how heavy they are.

Phonics

This week the children have been introduced to the letter sounds: oo, ar, or and the tricky words 'was' and 'they'.

To practise reading and letter sound recognition the children might enjoy playing Phonics play games on line. This link will allow you to access one of free games.

Have a great weekend.
