Hello all, 

It was lovely to welcome the new Reception class this week. We were very impressed with how calm and engaged in play the children were on their first week of school.

The children are slowly becoming familiar with the new routines and new friendships are being established. We have enjoyed singing and story time together. The class took part in PE sessions with Mr Mills and the music lesson with Mrs Lawrence which were lots of fun. On Friday, Reception join the whole school for assembly to celebrate the life of Queen Elizabeth the II.

Next week Reception class will start Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Phonics programme. The children will be introduced to the letter sounds: s, a, t, p.

On Thursday the 15th of September, we hope to see you at all 5.30 pm for the Phonics information meeting. During this meeting, we will familiarize you with our Phonics programme and we will discuss  how you can support your child with reading at home.






















Please remember to bring named welly boots next week if you haven't done it yet. The children should also bring a water bottle each day to school with water and not juice.

 Hello all, This week we have begun learning songs for the Harvest Festival. The children found lots of colourful autumn leaves in the garden which they have used for cooking in our mud kitchen. We have seen lots of amazing pies and beautifully decorated cakes.  The children also loved doing a puppet show. They used puppets and dressed up to perform for their friends.  Welcome back,  It has been a good week in foundation and the children seem very happy to be back with their friends. We have created a Winter area for the children to play and learn in, with lots of activities relating to the cold. I have included some photos for you to see.  Next week we are going to be starting  stay and play sessions. We have put families into groups so that we don't have too many people in the unit at once. Please make sure that you know what date you are invited to join us and speak to me if you have any queries. Child Initiated Stay and Play Sessions Happy New Year to you all.  Hello all, We have a had a very Chinese week in the unit with lots of exciting activities relating to the Chinese New Year. The children have made Chinese dragons, prepared and eaten noodles using chop sticks, looked at China on our map and learnt about the Chinese Zodiac story. It has been a very busy week. The children have also tried to do some Chinese writing which was fantastic. We always enjoy this festival as it really captivates their interest  especially as we are looking at other countries each day on our map. On Tuesday, Reception class went for their first school trip to The Snow Centre. The children were very excited going on a coach as for most of them it was the first time having that experience. I'm glad all the children found the courage to go down the slope. The children were amazing and the staff from the centre commented on our children's excellent behaviour.
