Hello all,

It is lovely to see all the children rested and full of energy for the Summer term.

This week Reggie brought a bird nest to school and all the children were very excited about it. This lead us into learning about nests and we will be learning about the Life cycle of a bird next week.

The children were amazed to see how much the plants in our school garden have grown during the Easter break. They have made interesting observations when looking after the plants and enjoyed doing observational drawing.

Phonics

This week in Phonics we have revisited the Phase 3 letter sounds and the tricky words. The children were introduced to the tricky word: 'are'.

Next week we will be reading and writing Phase 3 captions.

Maths

In maths the children were introduced to the concept of double. We used printing technique to double quantities. We will be learning more about doubling next week.

In PE the children were working on their tennis skills.

Our music topic this half term is Traditional Tales from Around the World. This week the children were looking at the story 'Tiddalik the Frog'.

Below is a reminder of our Summer uniform.

Optional for Summer* – Navy blue and white checked school dress and grey short trousers with white polo t-shirt.

Please speak to me if you have any concerns about this.

Have a lovely weekend!

Mrs Sheehan
