Hello everyone,
This week we have been celebrating Shrove Tuesday and World Book Day so we were very busy.
The children were very excited wearing their book day costumes and often got into their characters.
Throughout the week we were reading books, writing and illustrating our own stories.
We have discussed the features of a book such as the title, the author, the illustrator, content page and page numbers.
This week we have started planting in our Foundation garden. The children planted some beautiful pansies and we are planning to add some more flowers and vegetables. If you would like to donate some plants to our garden we will be very grateful.
Next week we will use photographs to predict what happened next.
Phonics
This week in phonics the children have been introduced to the tricky words: 'ear' and 'air' and the tricky word: 'was'. We have played Phonics Play game- Buried treasure. The children really enjoyed it and I have promised to them that I will put the link on the blog so they can play this game at home. When playing the game please choose the sound your child is confident with. Please choose the Phase suitable for your child, Phase 2 or 3.

In maths this week we have been working on number bonds. Next week we will focus on odd and even numbers.
Have a great weekend!
