Hello all,
This week in Reception our focus was Science. The children were very excited when experimenting with ice and air. We were looking for the correct vocabulary to describe our observations and to make predictions. The children have observed the ice outside and have found different ways to help it melt. We put some containers in the freezer containing animals, we discussed different ways of getting the animals out of the ice. The children's suggestions were excellent and they decided that we could put them in the sun outside to see what happened. We left some in the unit and we put some in warm water. We then discussed which had melted the quickest.
On Monday we have inflated a balloon using bicarbonate of soda and vinegar. On Thursday Mrs Howe launched a rocket outside which was super exciting to watch. We have lots of keen Scientists in our classroom.
Next week our learning will be focused around The Three Billy Goats Gruff story.
We will be acting out the story and sing the songs related to the story.
