Hello all,

This week was a little bit turbulent for us but I know that the children are having lots of fun learning with Ms Davis, Ms Ellis and Miss Weller. 

This week in Reception the children made lots of puppets using different resources and enjoyed performing in our theatre which we have created at the beginning of the week.. We have lots of talented actors and actresses in Reception!

Next week the children will be learning about bees and pollination. As Reception class will have Sports Day next week, they will be also learning about the effects of physical activity on their bodies. 

Phonics

In phonics we continued with reading short stories and answering comprehension questions.

The children were introduced to the tricky word: 'were'.

In PenPals we were practising letter formation from zig-zag monster family. v, w, x, z.

Maths

In maths we used the addition calculator to add two quantities and we have practised reading and writing number sentences. The children will continue with addition next week.

Sports Day for Reception class will be on Thursday the 1st of July.

Our Parent -Teacher consultations will be on Tuesday the 29th of June. You should have received an email with the link to the meeting. Please email me if you have any questions regarding the consultations or if you haven't received the email with the link.

 Hello all, This week we have begun learning songs for the Harvest Festival. The children found lots of colourful autumn leaves in the garden which they have used for cooking in our mud kitchen. We have seen lots of amazing pies and beautifully decorated cakes.  The children also loved doing a puppet show. They used puppets and dressed up to perform for their friends.  Welcome back,  It has been a good week in foundation and the children seem very happy to be back with their friends. We have created a Winter area for the children to play and learn in, with lots of activities relating to the cold. I have included some photos for you to see.  Next week we are going to be starting  stay and play sessions. We have put families into groups so that we don't have too many people in the unit at once. Please make sure that you know what date you are invited to join us and speak to me if you have any queries. Child Initiated Stay and Play Sessions Happy New Year to you all.  Hello all, We have a had a very Chinese week in the unit with lots of exciting activities relating to the Chinese New Year. The children have made Chinese dragons, prepared and eaten noodles using chop sticks, looked at China on our map and learnt about the Chinese Zodiac story. It has been a very busy week. The children have also tried to do some Chinese writing which was fantastic. We always enjoy this festival as it really captivates their interest  especially as we are looking at other countries each day on our map. On Tuesday, Reception class went for their first school trip to The Snow Centre. The children were very excited going on a coach as for most of them it was the first time having that experience. I'm glad all the children found the courage to go down the slope. The children were amazing and the staff from the centre commented on our children's excellent behaviour.
