Hello everyone,
This week Reception class focussed on 'The Enormous Turnip' story. The children had fun retelling and acting out the story.
The children really enjoyed planting and learning about plants. This week they have planted broad beans, marigolds and dianthuses. Our plants are really well looked after so we should see them grow beautifully.

This week we have also created a wormery for our classroom and have discussed the importance of worms for the plants.
Next week our focus story will be 'Superworm' by Julia Donaldson.
Phonics
In phonics we have been playing games with our tricky words and have been practising reading and writing words with the letter sound 'th'.
Next week the children will be introduced to the tricky words: 'said' and 'all'.
Please make sure that your child brings their reading books to school on Mondays.
Maths
In maths we have been looking at the values of English coins and we have used coins in our play.
Next week we will be exploring different combinations of coins with a total of up to 10 then 20p.
Have a lovely weekend!
Mrs Sheehan
