Hello all,
It has been only two weeks since the school closed but is feels sooooooooo much longer!!! Hope you have found your new routines as i guess we will be in this situation for quiet a while. I hope that children enjoy home learning and that you don't find it too time consuming or stressful. I want to stress again that children learn best through play in early years, so as long as they are busy playing, they are learning,
If you would like to organise some interesting activities I highly recommend that you look at the web page abcdoes.com by Alistair Bryce-Clegg. There are fantastic home learning activities there. Please also have a look at the latest blog on abcdoes.com. There is a wonderful 20 minute video about the importance of play in Early Years Education. The professionals explain the influence of play on holistic development of a child, particularly child's mental health.
When going on your daily walk, you might want to take your children on a Bear Hunt. In the local area people display teddies in their windows to be spotted by children walking by.
I went for a walk with my kids yesterday, and within about an hour we found 10 teddies. If you set up a target at the beginning of the walk, you can ask your child how many more do we have to find to meet the target. You might want to display a teddy in your window too. Great fun!
Home learning activities will be set up on the school website after Easter Holiday.
It will be a definitely different Easter Holiday for all of us this year, but certainly the one we will always remember. Lets make some good memories for our children and ourselves and make Easter Happy.
Stay safe
