We have discussed the importance of personal hygiene with the children during the week. We have carried out an activity to check how well we wash our hands.


On Friday we have celebrated Valentines day. The children have created beautiful cards with lovely drawings and massages.




















Maths
During the week we have explored capacity. The children enjoyed transferring liquids into different containers using syringes and pipettes. We have also introduced the concept of halving and sharing into equal amounts.
After half term we will be learning about time.

Phonics
We are practising our letter sounds at school.
We used our phonics knowledge to write labels and captions for pictures.
After half term the reading groups will change. We will continue changing books on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Please make sure you leave your child's reading bag in the correct box and not on their pegs.

 Hello all, This week we have begun learning songs for the Harvest Festival. The children found lots of colourful autumn leaves in the garden which they have used for cooking in our mud kitchen. We have seen lots of amazing pies and beautifully decorated cakes.  The children also loved doing a puppet show. They used puppets and dressed up to perform for their friends.  Welcome back,  It has been a good week in foundation and the children seem very happy to be back with their friends. We have created a Winter area for the children to play and learn in, with lots of activities relating to the cold. I have included some photos for you to see.  Next week we are going to be starting  stay and play sessions. We have put families into groups so that we don't have too many people in the unit at once.  Hello all, We have a had a very Chinese week in the unit with lots of exciting activities relating to the Chinese New Year. The children have made Chinese dragons, prepared and eaten noodles using chop sticks, looked at China on our map and learnt about the Chinese Zodiac story. It has been a very busy week. The children have also tried to do some Chinese writing which was fantastic. We always enjoy this festival as it really captivates their interest  especially as we are looking at other countries each day on our map. On Tuesday, Reception class went for their first school trip to The Snow Centre. The children were very excited going on a coach as for most of them it was the first time having that experience. I'm glad all the children found the courage to go down the slope. The children were amazing and the staff from the centre commented on our children's excellent behaviour.
