As a part of our Mental Health Week we have discussed our feelings, and spoke about things that might be worrying or frightening for us.We have read "The huge bag of worries" by Virginia Ironside ,then we talked about our own anxieties and everyone put their worry in a bag which we then emptied in the garden. The children listened to calming music and we have practised some yoga poses which was much enjoyed by all.

This week we have introduced a daily mile to our daily routine. At 1 pm , three times a week the whole school is running for 5 minutes. We will increase the time and the frequency of running gradually.
Thank you for bringing the reading books together with the comment books to school. The children are very excited about reading and can't wait to read with us and choose a new book.
Just to remind you that you need to place a reading book together with the reading record in a bag, and place it your child's box which is on the table outside the unit. The bag has to be collected at the end of the day from the box.The children read with a teacher and change books three times a week.

Maths
This week we were exploring 3D shapes. We looked at the shapes in our environment and tried to fined objects in a shape of a cube, a cone, a sphere and a cylinder. You might want to engage your child in looking for these shapes around your house.
Next week we will concentrate on matching numbers with quantities and finding the total number of items in two groups.

Phonics
The children were introduced to the letters and sounds: j, v, w, x, y.
Next week we will learn: z, zz,qu, ch, sh as well as the tricky words: he, she, we.

On Wednesday Flu Vaccine will be given to the children whose parents/ carers opted it for the vaccine.
Have a great weekend
Mrs Sheehan
