During the week our learning was focused on healthy diet. We have had a visit from Potters Bar  Children Centre workers who spoke to the children about keeping their teeth healthy. The children were very engaged, and were keen to share their own knowledge and ideas. 
We have red Vegetable Glue story by Susan Chandler. It is a very funny story which encourages children to eat vegetables.
On Wednesday we have made vegetable soup. The children enjoyed helping with all stages of cooking, and most were keen to taste the soup too.
Next week we will be cooking in our outside classroom on the fire. Exciting!!!

During the week the children created variety of repeated patterns. Next week we will extend our learning further and create patterns using mosaic tiles.











We will be holding Reception parent-teacher consultations next week on Monday morning and Thursday afternoon. If you can't make any of the days , please talk to me to arrange an alternative date.

Phonics
The children were introduced to the letter sounds: g, o , and a word and.
Next week we will be looking at three ways of writing one sound: c, k ,ck. We will be also learning the tricky words: to and the.

Maths
In maths we have been creating repeated patterns. Next week our learning will be focused on daily routines and patterns occurring in nature.
The children will create their classroom birthday chart.
