Hello all,
We began the week by introducing the Christmas Nativity story to the children. Together, we explored the characters and events that make this story so special. To bring it to life, we placed a crib in our classroom complete with all the figurines. The children have loved looking closely at each character, asking thoughtful questions, and retelling parts of the story in their own words.
Alongside this, we’ve created a magical snowy winter role-play area. It has already become a favourite space—filled with imaginative play, teamwork, and lots of laughter. From pretend snowstorms to cosy winter scenes, the children have been fully immersed in the fun.
Our Christmas songs are also coming along brilliantly! The children are growing more confident each day, singing with big smiles and plenty of festive enthusiasm. It truly feels like Christmas is in the air.🎄✨
Phonics
In phonics our focus was on reading words with additional - s at the end e.g. cats, bags, sips. Our tricky words were: she, he, we, me, be.
Maths
In maths we explored 2D shapes with four sides. We also practised writing numerals 1-5.
Have a great weekend!
Mrs Sheehan
