Hello all, Today we had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day in Reception. We were very lucky to have a visit from an author who led a whole-school assembly and then came to work with us in a workshop. During the assembly, he read two of his poems to us. One poem was about a whale and the other was about counting birds. The children listened carefully and really enjoyed the funny and imaginative poems. The author complimented our school on the calm atmosphere, which made us feel very proud. The children were also very excited to show off their World Book Day costumes. It was lovely to see so many different book characters in our classroom. Later in the day, we spent time reading and sharing our favourite books together. Ottolie also brought in a homemade book inspired by Oi Cat! . Her book included funny rhymes using the children's names, which made everyone laugh. e.g. Ottolie sits on a broccoli.
